Day 63: Pick It Up, Put It Down...

Bay's second official egg hunt. She was a rock star at the one the day before. I carried her basket, she'd pick them up and drop them in...she loved it!

We figured the "official" one on the Zombie holiday would be a no-brainer. (Ha! No-brainer!) However, she decided that she liked the eggs where they were. She'd pick one up, examine it, and then put it back. She's neat and tidy, my girl.

Day 62: The Amazing Ambrose Girls (Minus 1)

It's a rare occasion when you see the entire Ambrose clan together (and by "entire" I mean the sibs...not spouses too, that hardly EVER happens!) What can I say, we're a busy group!

This is a rare sighting of me, my sis, my mom, and Bay. We're missing my niece Callie, who shows up in a picture later. Unfortunately, my mom looks über-pissed, but I think she's digging for lipgloss or something in her purse.

Day 61: It's My Bay in a Box!

I believe in letting children explore their surroundings.

I believe in facilitating critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with young children...even toddlers.

I believe that pissing off Bay and then taking a picture of it is frelling hilarious!

(Yes, I got her out of there right after I took this.)

Day 55: Say What?

Bay and I had a play date with a local imaginary friend at Little Monkey Business. For those of you not in the know, it's an indoor playground for kids 6 and under.

This is not the best shot of her, but it is one of the funniest. The expression on her face is classic Bay.

Day 54: "All I need are some tasty waves..."

Toddler Vans...totally overpriced, they can wear them for about 5 seconds, but gosh darn it, they are frelling adorable!!

These were Boo's (for about a day) and I unearthed them while going through eleventy boxes and bags of crap to get ready for a consignment sale. They actually fit Bay, so we're putting them on her every day so we feel like we actually got our money's worth.

Day 48: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Bay loves to eat...especially if it's something sweet. Here, she just devoured an entire cupcake, as evidenced from the frosting round her sweet, widdle face. <3

Day 39: Wrestlemania

Boo has really started to be a "big brother" to Bay. No, he's not monitoring her every move, telling her what to do, and telling her it's for her own good. Wait...maybe he *is* Big Brother!

He's realizing that she's not a blob, and that she's growing into a cool little chick, so he loves to help her out (and boss her around.) We were trying to head up to school to watch Babe coach his basketball team, but Bay wouldn't let me put on the sock and shoe she tore off while she was eating.

Boo looked at me, real serious-like and held out his hand, "Mom, let me try." Sure enough, she sat down and let him put her sock on.

Now, I'm using "put her sock on" in the loosest term possible. He put it on upside down, it only covered her toes, and then, he started to wrestle her.

Eh, it's progress.

Day 38: Let's Get Physical, Physical...

Bay was cutting teeth. In fact, she still is--we finally figured out that there's an eyetooth, and a molar or two coming through, despite the fact that she only has her 2 front teeth on top. What can you say? My girl is a rebel, even at 15 months!!

Auntie Piper decided that due to Bay's propensity for disgusting diaper blowouts and cuddle-fests during teething time, that she'd keep her in the jammies for the day. And wouldn't you know it? Mom happened to wear a hot pink hairband to the gym this day, and it just happened to match her jammies.

The girl may be casual, but she *always* matches.

Day 32: The Amazing Climbing Baby!!

Bay has decided that she's part monkey...or mountain goat...or squirrel...or anything else that climbs. Today, she scared the shit out of her Papa T (Babe's dad...our "manny".) She's been able to get on the kitchen chairs for a week or so now--she was climbing up and looking outside at the dogs in our neighbor's yard. She was pretty steady up there, so he let her be, until...

Apparently, she decided to be daring and she lunged at the table and managed to haul herself up onto it. In his words, "The next thing I knew, she was squatting on the table like she was trying to drop a load in her diaper. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry!"

So, I need to keep tall object away from the tables and counters now. The baby-proofing never ends.

Day 27: Old MacDonald Had a Farm!

Boo so desperately wants to play with Bay and vice versa. Unfortunately Bay is just young enough to not really get the whole "playing" thing and Boo is just selfish enough to not want to share any of his toys.

However, today, the heavens opened and sang...They played "farm" together. They were interacting and laughing together. No fighting. No crying. No, "Moooooooooooooooooooom, Delaney took my toy!"

It was glorious.

Day 19: Toga! Toga!

Bay has become an absolute bear when one tries to get her ready for bed. She's realized the lure of staying up past her bedtime. Here, I tried to pull her onesie over her head, instead, she finagled (is that even a word??) her arm through and then scampered away. Eh...at least she's fashionable.

Day 17: All the Colors of the Rainbow

Crayons, crayons everywhere...who the hell is going to pick them up?

...

...

...

Oh, yeah, that'd be me.

Having two kids that are about 2 years apart is challenging. Trying to finish potty-training one while putting diapers on the other; trying to help one grow in his independence while baby-proofing the house; allowing one to express himself through art, trying to keep the other from eating the crayons.

It was Crayola carnage here the other night. CARNAGE!

Day 15: 2 Teeth...Ah, Ha, Ha, Ha!

That title is supposed to sound like The Count from Sesame Street. (Not that I've watched The Count in for.ever. Boo doesn't like him and turns him off every time he's on. Watching World of Warcraft...not a problem. A muppet vampire? Not so much.)

Bay is finally getting her 2 top teeth, but they're just poking through a little bit. Of course, she inherited her brother's lovely gap, so she's looking a bit vampireish. I'm just glad it's more Countesque rather than Twilightesque. I hate those books.

Day 8: Wonder time

Bay is 14 months old. (Holy shit, where did the time go? It seems like *just* the other day I peed on a stick and then started freaking out at the two lines!) This age is just so amazing...the look of wonder on her face when she sees something new; the expression of utter amazement on my face when she shows off her mad sign language skillz.

I do feel somewhat guilty about the sheer enjoyment I'm experiencing right now, being her mom. When Boo was this age, I was a brand-new, single mom, freaking out about money, raising him in two houses, and the "stigma" (all in my head, I'm sure) of being said "single mom". I'm sure I missed out on some of the wondrous moments with him, and that makes me sad, but I'm making up for it now.

Wait, how did this become about the boy? Bay is looking out the door to the backyard. She hasn't seen much snow in her short lifetime. She was so little last winter and it's not snowed much this winter, so she just revels in any sight of the white stuff.

Day 2: Fun with the Fam

I can already tell I'm going to get bored with my titles. Maybe I'll go multi-lingual...as in "tag zwei" or some such nonsense. Ooh, I know! I'll go all Wallace Stephens on this, "3 Ways of Looking at Day 3".

This isn't the greatest shot. The composition is shoddy, the lighting is off, but in order to get both kids, at the same time, I had to work fast. Thank you Canon auto setting!

We got home from school today and Boo decides that he wants to pull all the covers off his "bed" (which is currently the floor) and bring them to the play area. Then, he wants to play "sleepyheads" which is a game where we all got under some blanket and decided to sleep. A nap at 4 p.m. after a day at school? Don't mind if I do!!
