Day 64: They Call Me "Frankenfoot"

I've had 2 surgeries on my right ankle, which, for the longest time of holding the dubious distinction of being my "bad" ankle. That is, until, I killed my left one.

Here it is, the new record holder for being sucky. I present the Left Ankle!

I can't get all my scars in, but from this angle, you can see the apricot-sized scars left by the gauze in my cast from the surgery last year, you can see one of the scope scars, you can see the incision where they put the plate and screws in...and where they took them out.

As a bonus: my faded, yet still adorable Calvin tattoo. He'll be 19 this summer.

Day 63: Pick It Up, Put It Down...

Bay's second official egg hunt. She was a rock star at the one the day before. I carried her basket, she'd pick them up and drop them in...she loved it!

We figured the "official" one on the Zombie holiday would be a no-brainer. (Ha! No-brainer!) However, she decided that she liked the eggs where they were. She'd pick one up, examine it, and then put it back. She's neat and tidy, my girl.

Day 62: The Amazing Ambrose Girls (Minus 1)

It's a rare occasion when you see the entire Ambrose clan together (and by "entire" I mean the sibs...not spouses too, that hardly EVER happens!) What can I say, we're a busy group!

This is a rare sighting of me, my sis, my mom, and Bay. We're missing my niece Callie, who shows up in a picture later. Unfortunately, my mom looks über-pissed, but I think she's digging for lipgloss or something in her purse.

Day 61: It's My Bay in a Box!

I believe in letting children explore their surroundings.

I believe in facilitating critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with young children...even toddlers.

I believe that pissing off Bay and then taking a picture of it is frelling hilarious!

(Yes, I got her out of there right after I took this.)

Day 60: More Clouds

Springtime in the Rockies usually means afternoon clouds and highly unpredictable weather. Even Boo knows it. After looking at these clouds he proclaimed, "Mama, that means there's going to be a storm!"

He was wrong, it was just a bit windy, but at least he'll never be caught outside during a twister!

Day 59: The Great Hair Experiment

I've had variations of the same haircut for YEARS. A short, stacked, a-line bob. I love it. However, after having kid number 2, I've come to appreciate the beauty of having hair long enough to pull up in a ponytail or a bun and it still looks presentable.

I enlisted my "hair person's" help for this endeavor, and with her guidance and support, I'm growing it.

My hair takes forfuckingever to grow, but it's now brushing my collarbone...almost. Jessi, the hair goddess, decided that I needed short bangs in order to change up the look while I'm growing it. She's the expert, so there you go. Short, straight bangs. I love them.

Day 58: "You my tell yourself, this is not my beautiful house..."

My mom is frelling awesome. AWESOME! She's been watching Boo (and then Bay, when she came along) every Tuesday since Boo was 3 months old. He's almost 4. That's a long time. Not only does she drive 45 minutes, each way, to our house at the butt-crack of dawn, she sometimes brings us breakfast, she'll do some cleaning, our laundry, etc.

There's a catch...Isn't there always?

Sometimes, we come home and things are not quite where we left them. I think Baba was an interior decorator in a different life. Don't get me wrong, I love it. Without her, my walls would be almost bare of anything slightly decorative. It's just, well, she'll move stuff and then we can't find it, or she'll change something we did (because we like the way we did it.)

Case in point: This picture. The configuration of the couches was the way we had it for.ever. After moving the couches for a birthday party, we decided we liked it with both couches against the wall--it opened up the space and it showcased our cute khaki and black floral rug.

We got this braided rug from Babe's mom and it was going to go on the office, because it matched the curtains. However, my mom decided that it needed to go upstairs. Oh, and then the couches needed to move as well. Wa-la! A moved-around living room.

We have not, however, changed it back...there's a reason my mom always has a ton to do at our house...we're lazy.

Day 57: "Red Skies at Night"

Babe called me out to the deck (he was grilling some tasty dinner at the time)to view the amazing sunset. I grabbed the camera and snapped a few shots--much to my surprise the hot pink clouds turned out red in the camera. Again...it's the fault of the UV filter. I really need to read how to use all my camera stuff.
